Hi Momhani:

The supplements are suitable for kids above one year old. So, it's safe to give children below 3 years.

I started giving my little gal acerola cherry drinks since very young...I think around 5 months It's natural 100% vit C, no colouring, preservatives and it's organic!!!

Very natural taste...
Vitamin C is an antioxidant to fight free radicals and lots of benefits.

If you interested, you may email to me at winniepooh@rocketmail.com or you give me your email address and I will tell you more....

Hi! My baby is also often down with running/ stuffy nose and cough. I have allergy rhinitis and I suspect my baby has it too. In any ways, his paed has recommended ketotifen to my baby. Apparently, it helps to build his immunity (?) and reduces his chances of getting the same symptoms again. Also his paed said that my baby may recover even faster with the help of ketotifen. Hence you may like to speak to your paed about this med. Btw my baby is 6.5 months old. cheers.

Hi,
she is always coughing so wen she had fever once , I brought her to the A&E and did an x ray. From there I ask to be follow-up by the specialist. Actually u can bring her to any polyclinic and ask to be referred to KKH ( so that it is subsidised)

hi..

i tot of bring my baby to kkh tomorrow.. she caught fever last night.. she really cough badly and her body is so hot.. i can hear all the phlegm in her breathing.

alsee, just checking... someone told me that if you gave birth under say A class, your baby will be charged under A class rate.
therefore, can i still go to poly and get a referral letter and get a subsides rate at kkh?

angie, you baby is sooo cute. poor baby.. so young and so sick. i dont think that ketotifen can get at pharmacy.. even if can, surely under doctor's prescription.
but let see what the other mama got to say...

My son had seen Dr Anne Goh, head of respiratory in KKH. Her consultation is abt $70. He is diagnosed to have sensitive airway. He is under Ketotifen/Dhatifen also to build up his immunity and we had arranged to get a skin test done to see what he is allergic to so that we can take preventive measures. Advise to see Polyclinic to get referal to KKH so that you'll get subsidized rate. Otherwise, you can call them directly to make appointment with the doc.

hi cinchua,

thanks for the info. i just called polyclinic to check with them. they said i need to bring my baby down for the doctor to check and from there the doc will advise if it is necessary to bring my girl to kkh.
the nurse also advise that if by this thursday my girl is still having runny nose and cough, then her 15 mths immunisation has to be cancelled. my baby must be 100% fit for the immunisation.

by the way, i've also checked. it does not matter if you're under private rate or not cos when polyclinic give referral letter, it will definately be under subsidise rate. yay!

hi, momhani,

my gal is seeing Jenny Tang, It is beta to get a referral letter than call to make appt cos if thru calling, u hav to wait very long to get an appt. but as i go thru A&E, straight away i get to see an inhouse leeter, do an x ray and get an appt. Also u can ask the doc to prescribe medicine while waiting to see the specialist which is normally a few weeks later.

hi angie77, dun know whether u can get from pharmacy or nt. most prob nt cos that medicine can hav side effect eg sleepy or boosting appetite

hi,

wow! i just check out kkh website. dr Jenny Tang is sure one big shot there.. she's the Head Paed there.
i've check at poly that if i can get a referral letter to kkh, the consultation will be $20.10 instead of the normal $80.80 (snr con), $70.70 or $60.60 (con)
i'm going to poly tomorrow.

yes. if got referral letter from poly then cannot choose doctor. but the poly nurse told me if i'm lucky, then maybe can get the snr consultant to check on my baby.. and still pay for subside rate.
so, depend on my luck la.

Hi momhani,

I think if you can, don't delay too long leh cos baby's health still more impt esp since she's displaying some signs of breathing discomfort. My 2 boys both diagnosed w sensitive lungs, pd said in other words 'asthma'... sigh... my elder one kena bronchitis and cough pretty often and even my little one tho coming 6 mths only, kena twice liao and is having an attack these few days actually. the 1st time we needed to use nebuliser for 10 days b4 it got better (ie. didn't even clear yet!) we ended up buying our own nebuliser since loan is like $10 a day...

anyway, all zee best and hope your little darling gets well soon.

hi sunbird,

thanks for the advise. i'm quite worried too about her coughing here and there..
i just bought Delrosa Rosehip syrup yesterday. Heard it has high vit C.

i just told my mum that i want to bring my girl to kkh for a checkup on her continuous coughing/runny nose. my mum get so frighten! hehehe.
she said aiyooo... wait at hospital the doctor there always take small babies as experiment. donno what they will do..
mmm... i guess this kind of scary story has been going around for years.. tat hospital usually secretly use our babies as experiment here and there without our knowledge.
dont know how real is this story.... any mama out there ever heard of this?
